The Life of Reidy

I saw this movie without remembering the old movies too well, but my complaints were not any different then most I don't think. Amazing actors, amazing production values, crappy script. Well maybe not so much the script, there were definatly some key moments with Superman Return and such, but in the end the storyline goes nowhere and all the characters could have had amazing developments with the challenges they faced but instead they ended up in the same emotional state they started in. Watching the origional Christopher Reeve "Superman" reinforced the facts for me that they ripped too many moments from the old ones which was not really a bad thing, but they could have taken more risks to jump-start the franchise. Maybe no one will ever get these Superman movies right. I would have loved to have seen Kevin Smith and Tim Burton's version get made, which followed the plot line of Doomsday killing Superman, who would only come back more powerfull then before. But maybe Waner Bros keep getting it wrong so they can keep trying. Whatever. Again, not a bad movie, but could have been great and suffers because it wasn't.
