Quit "wine-ing" and check this out!

Now that I am of legal drinking age, I'm having lots of fun exploring the possibilies and culture that there is to be had in the world of wine. Though I probably will never be up to the calibur of the guys from "Sideways," I can still appreciate the taste of a good wine, and being a college student it's tough to find good wine at a fair price. Luckily, WineZap.com does for wine as to what Half.com did for my textbook buying. You just think of a wine, any wine, and they'll show you different sellers and prices and ways to go about getting the wine that is right up your alley. I was pretty pumped when I stumbled across this site, and I must recommend it to anyone who is looking into expanding their palette like myslef. And for you cell phone junkies, there's also mobile search options at http://www.winezap.com/mobile

The Departed

Since when was Jack Nicholson not an A-List actor anymore? I caught the trailer for the new Martin Scorsese flick, "The Departed," and was very pleased with what I saw. It looks like a kickass movie with an engaging story from a place that's very dear to my heart. I only had one problem however, and that was how the billing read:

Leonardo DiCaprio
Matt Damon
Jack Nicholson
and Mark Whalberg

Okay, what? I can understand the fact that ol' Jack might not be the lead, but usually when we have such a huge actor like him in a supporting role he will get the final "And.." billing. Don't get me wrong, it's a great group of actors (well, we'll see about Marky Mark) but I feel that Jack Nicholson has worked way too long and hard to get third name co-start billing. The man is a legend, and we are very fortunate that he is still working in the movies today.

Also, why isn't Alec Baldwin on this list. Kidding of course... or am I?!?!?

Getting Groups Online

The college life can get a little crazy, especially when you become as involved in groups and clubs as I am. I am on a board of directors for college theater, a national honorary student leader group, and a few minor groups for the love of film. A good site to check out for needs of getting your group online and organzied would be GroupLoop.com. I checked out their site, and I could really see how the many groups that I am involved in could benefit from their services. After a quick, free signup process you can utilize calenders, file sharing, and discussion boards to help keep your group connected even when they stray away from the tedious board meetings. If you don't have a specific board of directors that could benefit from this like I could, check out the site anyway. They offer services for non-profit groups, commitees, and even families so a lot of people can benefit from what they have to offer.

10 November

My next show is all about the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior. It's a very abstract little play. The play is almost dream-like, as in things do not flow in chronological order and the scenes and monologues are divided up with songs and sea shanties. It's almost like watching a strange documentary on such an odd tragedy, but on a live stage. If you are interested, here's all the show info:

Management Software

Coming off of a two year job as a desk receptionist, you quickly realize the importance of having all documents organized and into an effective, efficient system because you never know whe you need to look back upon certain documents. My mother also works in a law firm, so I was thinking about recmmending her to this Contract Management Software so they can manage their systems electronicaly and more efficiently. The site looks pretty tight, well managed, and easy to follow, especially for places like my mother's law firm where they've been established for so long and have so many file cabinets that are in dire need of organization. Check it out.

Vista

Looking very forward to Windows Vista and all it has to offer, and I also got even mroe excited when I stumbled across this little snippet:

"NVIDIA GPUs and MCPs will take full advantage of the new Windows Vista features and functionality. When coupled with NVIDIA products, Windows Vista will provide enhanced user productivity, crisp vibrant photos and videos, and data security for peace of mind. For the best Windows Vista experience on consumer PCs, NVIDIA recommends NVIDIA GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs and NVIDIA nForce 4 and 5 series MCPs."

There's more where that came from right here.

In your face, Apple.
