Spanish Speaking World

Most of you peeps know that I am filling my foriegn language requirement with four semsters of Spanish. Well, I'm on the third now and next semester will be my last in doing so. I opted to take a class that prepared me for a government test that can certify me to some fluency in spanish, even if it is only at an elementary level. Either way, it's going to look great on my resume, or if I ever decide that I might have a random interest in buying a property in Spain. Now if I pass the test well enough, I won't feel so strage residing in a foreign country or anything, because we all know of much of an advocate I am to avoiding awkward conversation. Especailly in a different language.

The Departed

Wow, I just got back from the movie theater a little while ago after seeing "The Departed" and let me tell you folks, I was nothing less then amazed. It's been a very long time since I've seen a film of this calibur. Not only was the acting top-notch, but the story was well thought out and driven with a humor and intenstiy that is very rare to find in films. The action was well balanced out between intense sequences and fast-paced dialouge that was nothing but pure entertainment to see these A-List actors shoot their mouths in Boston accents at each other. Not to mention, the film was set in Boston, very close to home subject matter. This film actually captured the feel of Boston even if we aren't exposed to this world of mobs and crime.

I highly recommend that you go see this amazing film now. And if you already have, then go see it again! And if you already have done that, then why aren't you back for a third yet?
