Area Rugs

Kind of a random topic to post about, but for the past four years I have been constantly moving from one place to another and one of the most important things that has followed me from home to home is my area rugs. As much as I like hardwood floors, I find area rugs a much more convinient way to keep your place looking good and tidy. Without rugs it can be kind of hard to tell when it's time to clean up your floors, and I can't say I advocating having all carpeting either because it can be tough to get those nit-picky edged. I like having my area rugs to keep my feet comfy in the places where I walk most and generally keep a good vibe flowing through my room. I'm especially a fan of oriental rugs even though they tend to get a bit pricey, but you can ususally score some nice deals if you go to discount furniture stores like Spags in Shrewsbury. You can even check online at those sites I've been linking too at shop-4-area-rugs.com. Given the options, having area rugs is my most perferred flooring method.

Compare If You Will

I've been mentioning for quite some time how much butt the Wii is going to be kicking this holiday season, and if you need another reason to trade in that ol Gamecube and pick one up here you go:

Now it's not an amzing difference, but since the Wii is backwards compatable you won't even need to have the ol Gamecube lying around since it will pretty much play all of your Gamecube and Nintendo games of the past. And for those fans hoping Nintendo will advance it's technology, hopefully those subtle differences will give them hope.

At The Drive-In

Though it may be a great band, I'm actually refering to going to Drive-In movies themselves. We always see it in those classic movies where the characters go to the drive-in movies in their pimped out 50's cars, and then the next morning they are dragging their mean machines through a few Street Racing rounds. If only that was how real life was, because I've only been to the Drive-In once and it was not such an exciting experience. My girlfriend at the time and I went and saw a double feature of Jeepers Creepers 2 and Freddy Vs. Jason, and since we didn't really plan it out to well our car battery died. They make you listen to the audio through your car radio, and silly us left the car at the wrong sitting and halfway through the movies the battery just kicked out. Not to mention that Jeepers Creepers 2 was terrible, even though Freddy Vs. Jason was pretty awesome. And of course, we got stuck in a long line of cars as we were trying to leave, and we all know how much I LOVE traffic.

So even though it wasn't the perfect experience of Drive-In moviegoings like you see in the movies, SPEEDtv will be featuring Speed's own "Lost Drive-In" Marathon on Nov 25 at 3pm EST featuring Grand Prix and Rebel Without a Cause. These kind of films harken back to that golden age of Drive-In movies, when maybe life was a little more simpler and those Drive-In lots weren't so sketchy. And thankfully you can just stay at home for this one.

Crazy

Not only was last night full of crazy pirating, but the SWAT Teams were crawling all over Salem for security. There were so many people that many of the streets had to be barricaded off, making it literally impossible for anyone to come into or leave town. Since I had to work, I skipped out my classes a bit early thinking I could get a nice spot in the garage and sneak away later that night without having to pay. but even at 1 O'Clock in the afternoon the lot was full, so I had to park my Jeep at work. This ended poorly because the streets didn't open back up again all night, so I had to leave my car in a shady parking lot trapped in Salem.

I was almost hoping that it would have gotten vandalized, because then I could have made an insurance claim. And with said money, I would have taken my jeep and done this to it:

Eh? Eh?

Muscle Car Marathon!!!

Nothing like a bit of muscle action to hype up a most excellent television event. Later this month on Speedtv they are doing a whole marathon devoted to the wonderful world of Muscle Cars. For those who might not be so familier with these legendary vehicles this marathon will no doubt fill you in on all that you have been missing. Every half hour they will be highlighing a different muscle car from different eras over the years and showcasing the great memories and details from their histories. In case you still aren't sure what I'm talking about, heres what one looks like:

Check it out, tv junkies! The Muscle Car Marathon will start Nov. 24 at 9AM EST on Speedtv, perfect for curing those Thanksgiving boredom blues.

For the record, this is a paid post sponsored by Speedtv.com

Halloween

Last night was pretty crazy outside in Downtown Salem. Barely anyone came into the Museum, which was pretty nice since I didn't have to do tours anyway and just crashed in the gift shop all night. After I got out of work, Bryce and I rocked out as Marty and Doc from the Back to the Future movies. It was pretty fun to just yell movie quotes all night, and it was also good because it's been a while since I had a good costume. Unfrotunately I don't have any photos of that costume yet, but I do have a pretty sweet one of Kevin and I as "Emo Clark Kent" and "Emo Bruce Wayne" at a halloween party over the weekend. Here it is for your viewing pleasure:

Hell yes. More Halloween stories later.
