Thank You For Smoking

I was able to catch "Thank You For Smoking" over the break on the On Demand option, which was pretty cool and convinient because I didn't have to go out and rent it and it was actually cheaper to buy it On Demand for a night rather as opposed to renting it. Anyway, I thought it was a great little film. There wasn't any action at all, it was pretty much just an hour and a half of talking but it worked because the acting was top notch with some great performances from very random stars of all different status. But even if they got different actors, I think the credit goes to a great script based off of a well thought out novel. The story explores the world of advertising and American's views on smoking, and mroe specifically how these advertisers can get away with marketing a product that is so dangerous to ones health. Filled with great quotes and excellent satirical timing, "Thank You For Smoking" is a very insightful film that will be sure to warm the heart of anyone who has hacked on secondhand smoke.
