Photography

So for my elective next spring I've decided to finish out the year with a photography class. I was hesitant at first because of the costs of buying a 35mm camera and buying the not-so inexpensive photo paper, but a good buddy of mine convinced me that it would be something I would really enjoy in the long run, despire the extra costs. Photography is always something that has really interested me, and I've always felt that I have a natural ability behind the camera to take very interesting photos. I would really like the chance to develop my eye for the world and get into going on more trips and just taking pictures of what I see. That's my hope for the class, the rest is up to you, Professor TBA.

Fun With Family History

I know most other people with irish last names like myself have extensive and interesting family history, and sometimes we can suprise ourselves as to how far back our family tree has grown and who our ancestors really were. If your family or if you know someone who might have an extensive family, you should definatly look into the "Our Name in History" custom-made books. They actually look into public records, immigration data, and census information specifically for you or whomever you may be buying for and create a wonderful book filled with the history that is the family name you were looking for. This is the perfect holiday gift for those tight-knit families or anyone who would want to know things about their heritage that they didn't even know! Check them out for yourself and see what they have to offer.

Lightsaber Fighting

Tonight I cheoreographed (sp?) my lightsaber duel with Duncan for Jamieson's new movie, "Scratch." It's basically a series of long, drawn out, ridiculously cool fights that move over a span of different people from all over Salem State. Most of the fights up until now have been pretty down and dirty, so we wanted to try something different.

Duncan and I switch up a lot of different styles of swordplay for this fight. We watched several amatuer videos on various Star Wars fan film sites and pointed out many of the flaws in hopes to not make the same mistakes they did. Of course most of the time, these flaws ended up being the mere fact that no matter how hard they try, these guys still look nerdy and lame when trying to lightsaber duel. But there was still plenty of cool moves to pick up on and expand for us to create our fight. We never use the force, and we certainly don't throw in the cheap punches. So basically this fight is nothing but straight up, bad ass lightsaber swinging and nifty stylized moves.

Or at least it will be, when it is finished.

Good Ol' FAFSA

I'm pretty much on my way out of college, but for all you suckers who are just starting out at college and have no idea what to do financially, FAFSA is definatly the way to go. Usually some college students are put off by the idea of applying for financial aid because it seems like it may be too much of a burden, but FAFSA online now has an amazing MP3 walkthrough of every single step you need to take to properly fill out the forms. Never before has utilizing the Federal Student Aid been laid out in such a simple way without the use of an assistant or waiting in some long line in a college office. After the convinient walkthrough, there is also a great 9-Page guide of secrets to how you can maximize your federal financial aid, with no tricks or gimmicks. Of course it isn't a requirement that all college students make use of financial aid, but it certainly is a smart idea for anyone looking to save money and smartly begin planning out their careers. For all these reasons, FAFSA and their simple yet effective website is the way to go for financial aid.

Guitar Hero 2 is here.

It's taking a lot of discipline right now for me to sign online and do some daily blogging and leave the game alone for a second. So please be respectful if my posts for the next month come out like crap because my hands are so freaking tired from playing.

All due respect, everyone with a Playstation needs to buy Guitar Hero 2. Everyone without a Playstation needs to reconsider purchasing one and then getting Guitar Hero 2. You won't regret it.
